The Nevis Arc:
The Newest Swing attraction in the Queenstown area. It complements the existing 134-metre Nevis Highwire Bungy, the world's wildest Bungy, and is the first of a range of new products launched at the Nevis site just outside of Queenstown by AJ Hackett Bungy.
The New Nevis Arc ride is accessed from a 70m-long walkway and launchs from a new bridge suspended by steel cables across the Doolan's Creek gorge in the Horn mountain range, close to the existing Nevis Highwire Bungy.
The arc rope is attached to a power-driven winding drum above the swing bridge jump platform, and clients leap out feet or head first attached to the rope by a full body harness.
You can choose your own fear factor from three arc diameters (40m 80m or 120m) and whether you want to swing forwards, backwards, alone or swing with a friend.
Then you're flung out over the valley - you'll accelerate for eight-and-a-half seconds towards and past rock faces, before swinging out over the valley in a massive arc of 40m, 80m, or 120m. It is extreme and exhilarating all at once.
