Trout Fishing Services:
Trout Fishing Services is owned and operated by Dick Marquand, a registered member of the New Zealand Professional Fishing Guides Association. Dick Marquand has fished as far back as he can remember and has a background of over twenty years of professional freshwater fisheries management experience in the Southern Lakes District.
He was previously employed by the New Zealand Wildlife Service and the Department of Conservation as a Fish & Game Officer.
Dick Marquand is well known in fishing circles having had over 200 articles on fishing and hunting published, mainly in New Zealand with some in Australia and the United States. Each year, he is asked to speak publicly at fishing club nights, anglers' evenings and to other interested groups.
Dick Marquand holds the qualification of Master of Restricted - Limit Launch, which he gained in 1982. He also holds a Passenger Service driving endorsement and a qualification in Workplace First Aid.
Dick Marquand has an extensive knowledge of natural history and he enjoys sharing this with his clients.
In November 2004, Trout Fishing Services became the first trout guiding business in New Zealand to be endorsed by Qualmark, New Zealand tourism's official quality agency, under licence held by Dick Marquand as an Endorsed Visitor Activity.
Today, Trout Fishing Services continues to be a leader in trout guiding services, operating across the central to lower South Island of New Zealand, throughout Central Otago, Southern Lakes, Southland, South Westland and the MacKenzie Country. Prospective clients are offered packages, or trips that can be tailor-made to suit their particular requirements. High quality fishing gear is available to clients who do not bring their own.

Lake Dunstan Fishing:
The minimum trip is of two hours duration. There is a money back guarantee on trolling trips of four hours or more duration if no trout are landed. (Last year Dick averaged more than three trout per hour).
Fly fishing and spin fishing trips are best suited to a maximum of two clients, trolling trips to a maximum of three clients. He can take larger trolling parties (up to six clients) however, this involves the use of a second boat and guide, at double the below rates.
- Clients are not charged for vehicle or boat transport to the fishing area.
- Top quality fishing gear is supplied. Clients are welcome to use their own personal gear if they so desire.
- Rates do not include accommodation or meals, other than snacks.
- Motel, hotel, camping ground or farmstay or homestay accommodation can be arranged.
- Pick-up service available.
- Tea, coffee and snacks are provided on trips of four hours or more duration. Tea, coffee, fruit drinks and light lunches are provided on full day trips.
- Anglers are required to be holders of current fishing licences. These are available and are an extra cost to the clients.
Trout Fishing Services reserves the right to cancel a trip due to bad weather or unforeseen circumstance.
